After a week of somewhat cryptic messages on social media teasing its next big thing, BCN3D has finally put us out of our misery with the Epsilon, revealing that it is indeed, a big thing.

Promising “unparalleled performance for your workbench”, the BCN3D Epsilon is a wall of a machine, offering a print volume of 420 x 300 x 400 mm, a full enclosure with passive chamber heating, HEPA and carbon filters, and all-new cloud printing functionality using the BCN3D Cloud service.

The new machine is the result of long research and development cycle at the Barcelona-based company, culminating in the Epsilon offering “enhanced performance, industrial-grade reliability, and full accessibility” in day to day use.

Building on its independent dual extrusion (IDEX) system, the Epsilon, like BCN3D’s Sigma and Sigmax printers, benefits from the ability to print through two print heads simultaneously – useful for batch production.

Wireless connectivity has long been a conspicuous absence from BCN3D machines past, so that, in addition to a full enclosure and the option to add tough all-new Hotend X nozzles (tailor-made to tackle demanding fiber infused filaments), marks a step up for the company.

Complementing this announcement is the news that BCN3D has partnered with industrial chemical companies BASF and Mitsubishi Chemical to offer fully tested and configured profiles for the collaboration’s new professional material additions to the BCN3D Filaments portfolio.

Priced at 6,995€ (~$7,700), the BCN3D Epsilon is slated to ship mid-December. We’ll be taking a deeper look at the machine in a separate article soon.
