Likely in response to the Creality CR-X, Geeetech recently released the A20M, another single-nozzle dual extrusion 3D printer. Just be warned, though it comes with a sizeable build volume, it doesn’t quite stand up to the features of the CR-X. On the other hand, it is half the price.

The A20M follows Geeetech’s large-format A30 and the miniature A10M, all three of which are based on the original CR-10 design. Apart from size and dual extrusion capability, the other new feature this latest model brings to the table is a stable base full of electronics.

In this article, we review the specs, features, and cost of the Geeetech A20M. On with the show!

Geeetech A20M: Review the Specs

Review the Features

YouTuber Nerys demonstrates the mix-color capability of the A20M.

Naturally, the most intriguing feature of this 3D printer is its “mix-color” capability. That means it’s a dual extrusion printer with only one nozzle, printing two filaments in varying degrees of blending. Those who are familiar with the Geeetech A10M or the CR-X will already have seen this feature.

One can achieve the full “spectrum effect” by making a slow transition from one color to the other. Or, if you want a clean break between the two, simply print with a purge tower.

Also notable with the A20M is its relatively large build volume. It may not compare to the 300 x 300 x 400 mm of the CR-X, but 255 x 255 x 255 mm is still a space to be reckoned with, and an upgrade from the A10M’s 220 x 220 x 260 mm.

Apart from the bigger build volume, the main jump from the A10M to the A20M is that all of the electronics are housed in the base. With the extra weight anchored to the bottom of the printer, printing should be much more stable.

As the A20M is semi-assembled, putting it together should be nice and easy. And the process is made even easier thanks to the modular plug-and-play cables.

Other features of the A20M include a filament runout sensor, automatic bed leveling, and 360° ventilation around the print head.

Geeetech A20M: Review the Specs

Review the Price

If you’re interested in the Creality CR-X, but your budget simply won’t allow it, the A20M could be the printer for you. It may not be quite as big, but it is a dual extruder 3D printer with a single nozzle and a solid base. And all that for nearly half the price!

Compared to its Geeetech cousins, the A20M finds itself somewhere in the middle of the price range. Intuitively, the smaller A10M and larger A30 are cheaper and more expensive, respectively.

Currently, the A20M is not yet available on Amazon nor Geeetech’s website. It can, however, be found on Gearbest.
