Your relentless search for the stones has come to an end and now it’s time to wield the power of the elements: fire, water, earth, and air! That is, at least, you can get your hands on a stunning replica of the stones featured in the 1997 film The Fifth Element.
The designer using a Dremel and sanding down the corners to achieve the aged or damaged effect from the movie, while some makers added primer and paint to complete the look. Most makers seem to have opted for PLA, however some used ABS.
Because the stones are a 1:1 scale, you may have to split them in half depending on the size of your printer. Not to worry – the designer included split files for all four to make your life easier. Of course, you can always do it yourself.
The creator even added illumination instructions for making this unmissable model into lamps. Take a look at the different makes of the model to see the colorful, lit-up versions shared by other makers.
Always wanted the shapeshifting powers of a demi-god? All you need is Maui’s magical hook (and perhaps some imagination). This ocean-entity inspired design is the perfect display for any Disney-kid (or adult!) to enjoy.
The maker used green glow-in-the-dark filament for the blade part of the model to add an interesting effect. While it’s not stated, we suggest a wood-type filament for the handle, based on what other makers have used.
What can we say, except, “You’re welcome!”
Thor’s movies are a massive branch in the Marvel tree of films, a category that needs no explanation as to its immense popularity. Mjolnir is Thor’s iconic, enemy-destroying weapon – a larger-than-life hammer which can only be wielded by the most-worthy.
This model is a popular choice to display or perhaps even as this year’s Halloween costume!
For ease of printing and to avoid a series of obstacles the designer originally encountered, this version of Mjolnir is split into various parts that can be printed separately and then glued together. Makes shared been printed in PLA or ABS, with most going for the former.
After you print and assemble, the question left will be, are you worthy?
The Mask is a 1994 comedy featuring Jim Carrey as a shy bank clerk who turns into a wild, green-faced powered man after he puts on a magical mask. The model featured here is also a great one to practice painting on, being a rather large canvas for different designs – check out some of the makes for inspiration!
The 22-cm model can be scaled up or down as desired and requires supports. The makers have some interesting takes to this model to make it their own, such as using glow-in-the-dark PLA for an even more mystical appearance. The overall consensus seems to be that supports are a must, and it’s easy to see why.
Why not print yourself one? After all, “We all wear masks, metaphorically speaking.”
While the Star Wars galaxy might be far, far away, getting you own version of a stormtrooper helmet is just a print away. This wearable piece is a must-have for those who have just joined life on the dark side.
The comments feature a whole host of fans who have printed, painted, and made this model their own, which might give you some cool ideas if you’re not entirely sure how to recreate it. The designer includes a bit more information from their own experience as well.
While the model is split into 12 files, some makers downloaded the complete version and then split it themselves, so you can look into the option that’ll work best for you and your setup.
May the Force be with your printer!
Looking to hitch a ride on the colossal worm-like alien – aptly called sandworm – from the 2024 hit sequel Dune: Part Two? You’ll need the “Thumper” to attract such a creature.
In the film, the device projects a slow and steady rhythmic beat into the sand dune, drawing the sandworms in and allowing the characters to use them as transportation.
The model is a fantastic replica of this device, and is described by its maker as “perfect for cosplay, or just as decoration.”
To make the 3D printing experience as easy as possible, the designer noted which parts require supports and which ones don’t, and they screw together with threads so you won’t need any screws or glue.
Dune fans, go ahead and open that can of worms!
If you’re a witch or wizard with the 3D printer and know a few Potterheads, this model could make you very popular in the Wizarding World – and maybe even with a few Muggles! While waiting for this model to print, you could spend some time practicing a spell or two.
The maker suggests scaling the design to 1,300% to achieve the real size, and doesn’t mention the need for rafts or supports. However, some users have suggested that this is too small and at least one user mentioned using supports for their print. A layer height of 0.2 mm and 20% infill appear to have done the trick for many magical makers.
A great corresponding print to this would be a wand stand, which we’ve seen some makers using to display their wands.
Hoist the sails, we’re headed for a model from the seas! Luckily, you don’t have to join a pirate ship to get your hands on the Sword of Triton, the weapon wielded by the legendary Blackbeard in the film series Pirates of the Caribbean. This model makes a fun addition to any costume party or for display.
The designer notes that support material is required for the guard, handle, and connector, and that it’s optional for the other parts. The assembly will require some glue or epoxy to hold everything together, and of course, the best affect will be achieved in the painting.
“On your way, now. And tell the world you set sail with Blackbeard.”
Who better to dress up as on Halloween than Mr. Skellington himself? This charming immortal being is the protagonist character on The Nightmare Before Christmas, which makes him the main character of our holiday cheer starting one spooky night every October (and during Christmas, depending on your opinion).
The model makes his friendly skeletal face a wearable delight for fans of the film. If you want to print this model in one go, you’ll need supports; otherwise, the designer suggests splitting it into four parts.
Want to capture the screams of your enemies and use it to power your 3D printers all day? You’ll need a canister like this model from Monsters, Inc. to do it. A popular animated movie among kids and adults alike, this Pixar production features some friendly monsters who fuel their cities with screams, just like the ones you’ll be collecting with this replica.
Comments have described this as a slightly more challenging print to achieve due to the lettering on the bottle, but it should overall be an easy and fun print to add to your list. The designer noted that assembly is simple, but you’ll need to glue everything together.
