James Bond is a super spy who, just like 3D printing, saves thousands of people. Only, Bond saves them from terrorism and extortion, while 3D printing saves them from boredom…
The film franchise and novel series are well-loved in the 3D printing community, as evidenced by the many Bond-themed models available online. As Daniel Craig’s time as 007 comes to a dramatic end in No Time to Die, let’s dive into 10 of our favorite prints to celebrate the man who drinks his vodka martinis shaken, not stirred.
If you see something you like but would rather leave the printing to the pros, head on over to Craftcloud. Apart from a wide range of materials and finishes, you’re guaranteed to benefit from expert-level quality and precision.
In the meantime, let’s get to those prints!
The golden gun is easily one of the most recognizable props of the James Bond franchise. It’s also one of the most-loved (and hated) weapons of the N64 game GoldenEye! (Nostalgia abounds!)
Unlike Scaramanga’s original weapon, this 3D print can’t be converted into a pen, a lighter, a cigarette case, and a cufflink. Nevertheless, with a little post-processing love, it can still be a beautiful and film-accurate display piece.
Most of the gun is flat, but you might still want to 3D print it with supports to ensure a strong and straight barrel. The edges are also filleted so print removal should be easy-peasy.
James Bond, as seen in the many movies, is the king of high-tech gadgets. From cars with more firepower than a tank to a device that allows him to breathe underwater, Bond has got it all. In No Time to Die we see Bond “blow minds” with his watch, but we’re looking a bit further back here to the iconic watch laser seen in GoldenEye.
Using violet-blue light, this gadget actually functions as a laser. When finished, it emits a small amount of heat that can, for example, light a match from afar. While not quite Bond-level powerful, this device is sure to catch the eye of a super spy!
This project consists of five purchased items and three printable models. Assembly is a little lengthy, so you should refer to the YouTube video for instructions. You can also find the list of links to the purchased parts on the Thingiverse page. According to the maker, the printable objects should be printed with a 50-70% infill for rigidity.
Note: The laser does have the potential to be harmful to the eyes. Make sure to use proper PPE while making and using the device.
James Bond, the ultimate defender of Queen, country, and furniture! Fending off watermarks from your ice-cold drinks all with the power of 3D printing, this coaster is a keeper.
The creator recommends using the M600 command on your printer to properly change filaments if you want to have a multicolored print. However, you can still print this design without doing multicolor printing; just paint it afterward.
Bombs, grenades, and other explosive devices are commonly used in the spy world. With this 3D print (and some purchased parts), you can recreate the remote mine prop from the film (and game) GoldenEye.
Although this design won’t explode or blow open a door, it can give your friends a scare or add some fun to an airsoft or paintball game.
Though doable, this design is a little complicated because it involves some electronics and separate components. The parts list can be found on the Instructables page along with all the assembly instructions. You’ll also need to use a few tools such as a soldering iron.
James Bond has saved the world about a million times, so doesn’t he deserve a statue? You can 3D print this Daniel Craig edition bust and always remember what a hero he was to the world and to your movie nights.
The design isn’t actually too complex, even though there’s a lot of detail. That said, you’ll have to print with supports activated due to the overhang on the arm. And the designer also recommends printing with a 10% infill to shorten the printing time.
The breather from the film Thunderball is another classic prop. It allowed Bond to hold his breath for an exceptionally long period while swimming through Largo’s shark-infested lair.
In actual fact, Sean Connery was just holding his breath, but don’t let that stop you printing this impressive memento! Though it’s unlikely to enhance your underwater abilities, it’ll still look just as cool as the one in the movie.
The design has 12 different parts that need to be printed and assembled. The maker recommends printing with 20% infill and 0.16-mm layer height.
We’re all familiar with James Bond’s secret agent number. Just three digits have become an internationally recognized symbol. Such things are just made to be printed.
The model is only a single part and doesn’t need supports to be printed as long as you orient it face-up. Other than that, you can 3D print this any way you want, as there are no specific recommendations or requirements.
“Ejector seat, you’re joking.” Here at All3DP, we never joke about our work. An instant crowd favorite, the little red button inside the gear lever was first featured in Goldfinger. The only one not too keen on its use was the henchmen who thought he was in control…
Even if you don’t own an Aston Martin DB5, with a 3D printer, you can still enjoy this marvelous little gadget. Watch your friends fight over shotgun now.
The design isn’t too hard, having no particularly complex structures. Nevertheless, it’s probably advisable to print the four parts with supports, just to be safe.
The Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion – SPECTRE – is the criminal organization lead by Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Bond’s arch-nemesis. Featuring heavily in Ian Flemming’s books as well as the most recent Bond films, SPECTRE members sometimes self-identify with the iconic octopus ring.
This design isn’t too hard to print as it contains no difficult structures. The designer recommends printing it face-down to get a shiny finish and at 50% infill for strength.
To finish off we’re going back to the iconic 007 logo, except this one you can put on your keychain. Now you can present your MI6 affiliation on the move!
The small height of the print as well as the fairly small area makes this an easy object to be printed in a matter of minutes. Makers recommend printing it with at least 30% infill to give the structure strength.
