We’ve had our eye on 3D Print Bunny’s designs for a while, and if you take a look at her portfolio, you’ll understand why. Actually, odds are, if you’ve been 3D printing for some time, you’ll have come across her designs and might have a print or two at home already.
How did we pick Safe from the Rain from the large number of options? Well, we’d also been eyeing the dazzling string artwork pieces that have been making the rounds on Printables, MakerWorld, Thingiverse, Cults, and MyMiniFactory, and we had some dual-color filament we wanted to keep printing with.
So, we gave it a go. No regrets.
Our setup included Bambu Studio slicing the model to be printed on Bambu Lab’s A1. As per 3D Print Bunny’s instructions, in addition to the default P1P Standard profile, we double-checked that supports weren’t enabled and we changed the wall generator to Arachne.
As mentioned, we wanted to give the model a go with dual-color filament, and Flashforge’s Silk Dual Color Fusion Blue-Green added the exact effect we were after.
Yes, from the photo above you can see that there was a bit of failure towards the end, so the last few layers didn’t print correctly. What happened? We don’t know. And the flaw is negligible enough, and the unwelcome bits were easy enough to remove, that we kept the model even if it didn’t come out as perfectly as we were hoping it would.
Again, no regrets.
As mentioned, we’ve had 3D Print Bunny on our radar for a while, and a glance at her different sites should make it clear why. With over 300 models shared on Printables that range from chess sets to headphone stands, including silhouette art and vases and bowls, you’re bound to find something you like. Especially if you’re a Star Wars, Star Trek, or Warhammer fan.
In addition to subscribing to a variety of Patreon memberships, you can join her Printables club or check out the exclusive Thangs models to support her.
At Printables, Thangs, MakerWorld.
