“Wednesday’s child is full of woe” is a line from a nursery rhyme first published in 1838, and it offers a fairly bleak outlook on anyone born on this day of the week. This poem is where the character Wednesday Addams gets her name, and considering her dark personality, razor-sharp wit, and grim sense of humor, this name makes sense.
The Addams Family originally started as a newspaper comic strip and was then developed into the cult TV show of the 1960s. The 1990s delivered two movies where Wednesday, played by Christina Ricci, was the stand-out character for many viewers, and while Tim Burton wasn’t involved because of other commitments at the time, he’s now created the Netflix show Wednesday. The series revived memories for those old enough to remember the originals and created a massive following with viewers new to the franchise.
Wednesday has become a spooky success, and fans are showing their love and appreciation by designing their own 3D models, so of course we’ve curated some of the best free and printable Wednesday-themed designs out there. And if your printing setup can only deliver something that Thing would throw out the window because it’s not up to the Addams standard, check out Craftcloud for a variety of materials and manufacturers all over the world.
As a warning, there may be some spoilers if you haven’t watched the show yet, so tread with care! With that said, let’s snap our fingers, dust off our typewriters, and get to the list.
What better place to start than with the main character herself? This bust of Wednesday perfectly captures her classic unimpressed expression, braided pigtails, and grim style, with the guillotine as an extra morbid touch.
The designer has taken great care to include small details, like the poison bottle and a spooky, headless doll. This bust would be a chilling decoration for your home, especially during Halloween. However, you may not be able to sleep at night if it’s too close!
The model can be printed as a whole, but there are separate files for the bust, doll, and base, which might make things easier.
Wednesday may not believe in heaven or hell, but she certainly believes in revenge. With the help of her trusty companion, Thing, she wreaks havoc at Nevermore Academy and doesn’t let anyone or anything stand in her way while solving the mysteries surrounding the school.
Here’s another model of Wednesday, this time in full body form, and with the more than welcome addition of Thing. The designer has really captured the character’s personality with Wednesday’s deadpan expression.
The print should be fairly easy in either a fused deposition modeling (FDM) or resin printer, with little need for supports. The head, body, hands, legs, and Thing are all printed separately, so printing mistakes can be easily rectified.
For a fun and related design, check out this finger snapping Wednesday.
We’ve already met Thing in the previous design, but now he’s the star of the show with this clever print. Fittingly, you can find him on Thingiverse! The key to this model is in the painting. You can go for a realistic style, as seen in the picture, or turn it into a bronze display piece.
Wednesday fans are loving this hand-tastic design, which includes three different models to pick from (or you can print all three!). There are also Thing remixes, including a fun lamp and an Apple Watch charger.
For this particular model, you can print the hand in one piece and make it life-size or you can scale it down as a maker did, to give a Wednesday Funko Pop some good company.
In Wednesday, a dangerous and unpredictable monster called a Hyde terrorizes Nevermore. Wednesday makes it her purpose to track down the monster and save the school. The series follows her investigation, as she solves the mystery and puts different pieces of the puzzle together.
This cool, custom-sculpted model shows the Hyde trapped in chains. It was printed in resin on an Anycubic Photon Mono X printer, which explains the high level of detail. You can breathe life into your print by painting it in vibrant colors.
This cute little Wednesday bear takes us in a different direction. While it’s not a direct representation of the character from the show, it’s a nice and cute figurine that will look amazing on your desk or coffee table – and the deadpan expression is still there.
The cuteness may be soured by the quote, but it wouldn’t be Wednesday without an acid-tongued insult! This print should’nt require supports.
This delicate design depicts the pendant given to Wednesday by her mother, Morticia, when she drops her off at Nevermore Academy. It’s a good item for cosplay fans to use or to just wear for fun. The added reversible ‘W’ (Wednesday) and ‘M’ (Morticia) is nice and links Wednesday with her mother (even though she may not be a fan of that).
You can print the design in two separate parts or as one solid model. Since the gems are quite tiny, you may need pliers and glue for assembly. The design is optimized for FDM printers using a 0.4 mm nozzle.
Named after the Edgar Allen Poe poem, Nevermore Academy is where Wednesday is sent when she’s expelled from yet another school. She’s placed with other outcasts of society who have a variety of special abilities.
The designer of this item has perfectly replicated Nevermore Academy’s badge and turned it into a functional stand that you can use for your devices. It looks great in stark black and white tones, which can be achieved with a multicolor printer, but you could also pause at height or paint it in different tones. You can use it for cosplay or enlarge and mount it as a wall display.
If you don’t need a whole stand, you can also print the badge by itself, as the same designer also created this print.
Uncle Fester is another fan favorite in the Addams Family clan, although this take depicts actor Christopher Lloyd, who played Fester in the Addams Family movies and not the show. While we’re sure a Netflix version will leave its mark too, Lloyd’s performance was pretty iconic.
This print can be done with FDM or resin, and it’s been designed so as to not need to use supports when printed with filament. And if you’re wondering just how good it is, the design won the Printables’ Halloween theme contest.
Looking to add some character to your walls? This simple design will add a nice touch to any Wednesday fan’s living space. It shows the iconic finger snap, making it clear it’s from the series and not just a day of the week.
The finger snap was originally part of The Addams Family theme song, but in Wednesday, it has more meaning and helps Wednesday solve the mystery. For example, it’s used to enter the secret library where Nevermore’s secret society meets.
The model can be scaled up or down to make a wall hanging or badge. It could even work as the back of a clock or a coat rack with the addition of hooks. No supports are required, so printing should be a snap.
This is the eye-catching stained glass window from Wednesday and Enid’s dormitory room at Nevermore Academy. The colorful half represents Enid’s chirpy and happy nature, which contrasts with her roommate’s darker persona. When they’re paired, Wednesday insists on a direct division down the center of the room, which is why the window is transformed.
The detailed print is done in separate, individual pieces so it will require delicate assembly. For best results, print using translucent filament for the colored panes. Each color is available in a separate STL file to ensure the best quality for the parts.
This model could be used as a wall hanging, part of a lamp, or even as a cool clock face.
