The original Power Rangers from 1993 were… well, let‘s say the series was “targetted to kids”. Now, Lionsgate Movies surprised us with a Power Rangers movie that actually looked great and a worked also for a more mature audience. If you want to add some Power Rangers flair to your life, you can do so thanks to the marvels of 3D printing.
The creator of the 3D printable Power Ranger helmets, Morgan Morey, has put them up on MyMiniFactory for anyone to download (links below). The helmets were originally created for a fan film by Ismahawk entitled Power Rangers vs Voltron:
How to get the free Power Ranger Helmets
Getting to the files the helmet files is easy. Just download them from MyMiniFactory and fire up your 3D printer. Here are the digital blueprints for the Power Rangers helmets
The Power Ranger helmets can be cut into multiple parts for printing on smaller 3D printers. Each one fits on a real person’s head and looks convincing, if painted properly. The helmets are hinged; you put your face in the front of the helmet, then close the back. Please be aware that it will take considerable time and post-production to get the helmets right… it‘s definitely not a beginners project.

How the Power Ranger Helmets were made
“I really enjoyed the Might Morphin Power Rangers as a kid, so getting the chance to make the helmets with the prospect of them being printed and used for a video was a great opportunity,” says Morgan Morey. “The Power Ranger Helmets were originally designed by Huy Dinh which I then sculpted in zBrush for production by ItchyPig from spectra3d.com. The finished product is a wonderful thing and it was great to see it in the Ismahawk Video.”
