Summer may be over, but 3D Printshow California will brighten your gloom. Learn and mingle at a fantastic festival of digital fabrication.

3D Printshow California kicks off today at the Pasadena Convention Center. For September 11th and 12th, this massive hall will feature all of hottest technology and the latest innovations in the world of additive manufacturing.

There will be the obligatory 3D selfie booths, as well as demonstrations of live 3D furniture printing from the show floor. And if you’re seeking out something truly cutting edge, the organisers promise a gallery of something called “bio-futurist art”.

There’s also a 3D printing conference series offering fast-track orientation on a range of key topics. On Friday, Business: Progressing Perceptions looks at innovative applications for 3D printing specifically for manufacturing, retail and design. On Saturday, Design: Parameters, Projects and Products will help navigate design applications, and Newcomer: An Introduction will cover all the basics of printing.

The list of exhibitors includes 3D Hubs, 3Doodler, Adobe, Autodesk, i.Materialise, and Sculpteo. Contributors include Sylvia Heisel (one of 12 Amazing People You Need to Know in New York Fashion Tech, according to Alleywatch), printer/artist Shane Hope, and many more.

The show will be open daily from 10:00-17:00, and you can check out the timetable for conference times. A one-day show pass can be purchased online in advance, or at the door for a small markup. Discounted passed for children and students are also available.

BONUS: 100 Complimentary Student Passes are available on a first come, first-served basis. Register here.

Our honest opinion? If you live in the California area, then this two-day extravaganza is completely unmissable. Whether you’re a creative professional or a serial entrepreneur; a complete novice or a seasoned hacker; there’s something here for everyone.
