3D Slash have partnered up with Raspberry Pi in order to achieve their goal of making 3D printing accessible to everyone despite age or experience level with a user-friendly modeling app.

The new, free version of the 3D modeling app was officially released this week by 3D Slash for the educational computer system, Raspberry Pi.

3D Slash teaches users about 3D modeling using building blocks to keep its process simple (here’s our review). This means you can build your designs one cube at a time Minecraft style – whether you want to add your name to a 3D print or design a cup, you should have few problems.

The new 3D software was specifically designed for Pi-Top, Raspberry Pi’s inexpensive build-your-own laptop kit. Pi-Top was created to give both kids and adults a thorough, yet fun, rundown on computer hardware and software creation.

Pi-Top plugs into a standard computer monitor or TV, teaches programming skills for a number of applications and one of the only flaws with the device is that, until now, it has not offered a basic 3D modeling app.

Thankfully, this problem has been solved and the release of the 3D Slash app, is now available for free download from 3D Slash’s website.

The program uses bright colors and appears like a game with intuitive features to appeal to children and make programming education more fun.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation, has been spreading programming across the world and done some impressive work in developing countries and aim to benefit younger generations.
