There are so many choices once you search for a nicely designed decorative bowl. But ever so often, the design, size, and color don’t match your needs. So, how about a minimalistic design that you can make a one-of-a-kind with a free choice of filament material, filament color, scaling, layer height, and other adjustments?
We found a beautiful 3D printable bowl with a ribbed design, which you can download for free for personal use and gift-giving. Its suggested dimensions are 240 x 240 x 140 mm, which fits most regular FDM machines, but you can easily make it bigger or smaller in your slicing software.
The bowl’s form is beautifully restrained, embodying the “less is more” ethos with soft curves and a satisfying weight. The simplicity of the design allows it to blend seamlessly into various settings without fading into the background. Whether placed on a kitchen counter, a hallway console, or a desk, the bowl draws attention not through complexity but through its quiet, balanced presence.
You will barely see visible layer lines thanks to its round ribbed designs. The designer used a neutral-colored filament to showcase it, so you might want to stick with a soft, natural tone – think sand, warm gray, or sage.
One caveat: We advise against storing food in it unless you’ve used a waterproofing sealant, since pesky bacteria can gather in the layer lines. It’s awesome as an entryway organizer, office accessory, or decorative accent … it’s a real eye-catcher.
The printing itself won’t pose a problem even to absolute 3D printing newcomers. It prints fine with PLA or PETG. In our case, we chose a blue-greenish Elegoo Galaxy Peacock filament. Depending on the percentage of infill (we chose a sparse density of 15 percent), make sure to have at least 500 – 600 grams of filament on your spool.
The model prints without support structures, so you can pluck it right off the print bed when it’s done – no cleanup required. Its curving design leads to longer printing paths, so expect a bit of time investment. On our fast Bambu Lab X1E, we printed 16 hours, and the result was more than worth it. We think it’s a real standout.
