AnkerMake has announced a slew of forthcoming community feedback-based updates to its slicer, AnkerMake Slicer – among them a full software transition to the open-source PrusaSlicer.
AnkerMake says the transition will be fully completed by April, after which there will be a public beta testing phase. AnkerMake Slicer will then be compiled on GitHub, allowing anyone to “access the latest code, report issues, and contribute to development,” according to a recent blog post.
Releasing this month, meanwhile, are printer profiles for AnkerMake M5 3D for popular third-party slicers – namely Ultimaker Cura and PrusaSlicer. Until the official release, you can manually add an AnkerMake M5 to Cura or PrusaSlicer by following these steps.
Several other major updates are also planned, albeit with no timeframe. For one, AnkerMake plans to “reposition and rename” AnkerMake Slicer, for which bi-weekly updates – as well as an impending V6 update – are planned.
For full details on AnkerMake Slicer’s updates, you can check out AnkerMake’s recent blog post on the subject. Or, take a look at the AnkerMake Slicer GitHub that appears to already be active.
