Artillery3d has announced two new 3D printers during this year’s Formnext: the Sidewinder X3 Plus and the Sidewinder X3 Pro.

Both FDM machines appear to be fairly basic – and very similar to one another. Size, it seems, is the only major difference, with the Plus aptly boasting a larger 300 x 300 x 400 mm build volume against the Pro’s 240 x 240 x 260 mm.

Speed-wise, Artillery claims, the Sidewinder Plus and Pro can hit 300 mm/s and 3,000 mm/s2 acceleration. The machines also feature “automatic cleaning” nozzles that can print at up to 300 °C, dual-gear direct drive extruders, all-metal guide rails, magnetic PEI build plates, and 49-point auto-leveling.

Users control both printers with a 4.3-inch color touchscreen. An “integrated FFC cable design” keeps things neat and orderly on the aesthetics and maintenance front. A top-mounted LED light, meanwhile, supports printing in “dark environments”.

The Sidewinder Plus and Sidewinder Pro are currently available for preorder, with ships dates estimated for later this month and December. The Plus goes for $329 and the Pro $219. However, the first 199 units of each printer sold through Artillery’s website are eligible for discounted prices: $50 off the Plus with code “X50” and $20 off the Pro with code “X20”.
