Bambu Lab has teased a new 3D printer in a rather cryptic announcement via Twitter.
The Bambu Lab P1S will be the “latest addition” to the OEM’s P1 series. Based on a rendered image included in the tweet, it appears to be a fully enclosed version of the popular P1P that also features AMS compatibility.
The announcement comes a few weeks after Bambu Lab knocked $100 off its P1P machine, which could suggest the P1S will take over the P1P’s former price point. Other than that, at least from Bambu Lab’s end, there’s not much to go on – although a “first look” video on the Nathan Builds Robots YouTube channel sheds a bit more light on the printer, in that we’re able to see it in somewhat-unboxed form. Another YouTube reveal promises a review of the P1S on July 13 in the video’s description.
Additionally, a recent Reddit post points to several newly filed Bambu Lab trademarks, which include the P1S, X1E, and X1S – possibly pointing to not one, but three forthcoming machines. Speculation is also running wild on the Bambu Lab forum, with users guessing the “S” in P1S stands for everything from “stealth” to “silent”.
As for us, we call the P1P the “Pip” around the All3DP office. So, while we have no idea what the “S” may stand for, we’re greatly enjoying tossing around an obvious nickname for Bambu Lab’s new machine.
