Bambu Lab has released a cryptic teaser ahead of a potential new product launch, consisting of only a render and a slogan: “Colorful 3D Printing For Everyone.”
The move comes amidst a flurry of activity for the busy OEM, most recently with the announcement of its forthcoming MakerWorld 3D printing repository. In mid-July, it also released the fully enclosed P1S 3D printer, which is compatible with Bambu Lab’s separately purchasable Automatic Material Station (AMS) multicolor add-on.
Now, Bambu Lab is back with this new render. It’s vague, but there are clearly four colors of what seems to be filament running into what appears to be a print head.
Coupled with the slogan, perhaps we’re looking at some sort of multi-extrusion system that can be combined with Bambu Lab’s AMS. Looking closer, the yellow symbol on the print head (if that’s what it is) could even symbolize three nozzles that can automatically rotate during prints.
There’s also the matter of whatever it is being “for everyone”. This message tracks with the MakerWorld repository mentioned above, which the company pitches as a 3D printing community that connects experts and beginners, as well as Bambu Lab’s business plan thus far, which often focuses on making relatively advanced or “industrial” features accessible to hobbyist or intermediate-level users. With all of this in mind, it would be logical to assume that whatever’s coming is affordable and knits these components together.
Of course, all of this is essentially pure speculation. We do know that Bambu Lab has asked those interested to save the date for September 20, when presumably all will be revealed. We’ll probably get a few more clues before then, so stay tuned – we’ll be here to update you.
