Bambu Lab has released a major update to Bambu Studio – and with it a host of improvements to the open-source slicing software.

First up in Bambu Studio V1.5.0, which is currently in public beta, is an enhancement to the software’s text tool. Users can now place text on any type of surface – rather than only planar surfaces – with automatic text previews and a search box for font selection making the process even easier.

Improvements include an updated display of project statistics (Source: Bambu Lab)
Other new features include a display of project statistics in preview, enabling users to quickly and easily see stats from all plates in one location; support for “by layer” or “by object” print sequences on different plates; the option to hide objects in the assembly viewer via the right-click menu; and unidirectional zooming with the press of the “control” key.

Also of note are security enhancements, namely improving login security for third-party accounts and switching to FTPS protocol for LAN mode – a move that helps to address users’ network security concerns.

A number of other features of varying sizes have been added to Bambu Lab V1.5.0, as well as a number of bug fixes (27 in all). To read the full write-up – or download the update and start slicing – visit Bambu Studio’s GitHub page.
