BigTreeTech started 2024 with a bang, releasing the well-received Panda Touch touchscreen upgrade for Bambu Lab’s P1P and P1S 3D printers, later revealing a bevy of other Bambu Lab-compatible accessories and upgrades. This lineup has expanded as of this week, with seven new products that can mostly be used across all series of Bambu Lab 3D printers.

First up, there’s the Panda Jetpack, a skeletonized print head housing for the P- and X- series printers that BTT claims is lighter and, therefore, results in smoother and finer prints. Also, by virtue of it being so open, BTT also claims better cooling and thermal dissipation, and therefore a reduction in the possibility of clogs from using the JetPack. We don’t know about that, but it certainly looks the biz, and there’s a space for you to insert a custom LED cover, letting you personalize the print head. Available from mid-September, it’ll set you back $39.99.

Meanwhile, the Panda Door is just that. A door. One made from shatterproof PC, no less. Available in three transparent colors (dark grey, yellow, and orange) it’s a durability upgrade that cheapens the P1S and X1 printers, if you ask us, but also adds an undeniable toughness. $25.99; available now.

Another durability-focused upgrade comes in the form of the Panda Claw, a coated hardened steel gear set to replace the stock extruder gears. Available for all series of Bambu Lab 3D printers, BTT says the gears offer an optimized tooth shape, resulting in a more even flow and smoother outer wall surface on prints, and is ideal for use with abrasive filaments. An aluminum idler arm is included in the set too. You can pick one up for $22.99.

The Panda PWR (Source: BTT)

Arguably the highlight of the announcement is the Panda PWR, which could be likened to some kind of “smart” power brick that you can position between your printer and power outlet. In addition to powering your printer and – separately via dedicated USB ports – your Panda Touch touchscreen and another accessory, such as a light bar, the Panda PWR can be accessed via web browser for power monitoring, control, and scheduling. Using multiple Panda PWR bricks in a farm lets a single connected Panda Touch exercise power management over all of the connected printers, too. The PWR is available now for $45.99.

During the announcement stream, it was mentioned that a firmware update is in the works to open up the Panda PWR to work with any printer and firmware, too. Since it uses the open-source Tasmota firmware, the PWR could, theoretically, integrate into your smart home setup, letting you configure all manner of custom routines and control over your printing.

The Panda Branch is a connectivity hub to help manage multiple AMS systems and USB add-ons, giving you more flexibility in the placement of your printer accessories. BTT says the Branch is designed to operate within the printer’s power limitations, though strongly advises users against connecting arbitrary devices to the AMS ports. The Panda Branch retails for $25.99.

Lastly, a couple of build plates round off the presentation.

On trend for flashy first-layers is the dual-sided Designer-series print plate ($24.99). Compatible with the A1, P- and X-series machines, it transfers tidy honeycomb and houndstooth patterns to the bed-side of your prints.

Conversely, the CryoGrip Pro build plate is less showy but killer as far as performance is concerned. BTT says this plate is designed to print at lower bed temps, providing full grip performance with PLA at ambient temperatures, up to 50°C, and PETG at temps as low as 45°C. The implication here is lower power consumption (through less heating) and, for enclosed printers, better odds for your PLA prints if you forget to open the printer door. Available from mid-September, the CryoGrip Pro plate retails for $23.99.

The full 106-minute-long product presentation is available to stream on the Biqu Facebook page.
