BigTreeTech has released the Manta E3 EZ motherboard, billed as a drop-in replacement for the Ender 3 motherboard.
The E3 EZ features the same board-to-board sockets as the Raspberry Pi CM4 – and is also compatible with the BTT CB1 – making things interesting for those seeking a device that will allow them to run Klipper in the face of the ongoing Pi shortage.
Under the hood is a 32-bit, 64MHz ARM Cortex-M0+ series chip that is – in addition to Klipper – able to run Marlin without a CB1 or CM4, as well as five pinless “mistake-proof” EZ drive sockets that BTT says protect users’ hands, prevent reverse insertion, dissipate heat more efficiently, and open the door to dual extruders and dual-Z kits. Meanwhile, an onboard SPI interface allows the connection of acceleration sensors, which are beneficial to input shaping.
The Manta E3 EZ also supports color touchscreens via an HDMI port, and offers CANBUS support for easier toolboard wiring. It is available now, starting at $44.98, via BTT’s website, where you’ll also find the motherboard’s full specs and more information.
