Bondtech has released LGX ACE upgrade kits for Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro 3D printers, which aim to reduce heat creep and boost the machine’s high-temperature performance.

The kits arrive in “budget” and “performance” versions. The budget set includes an LGX extruder and an LGX ACE Copperhead hot end, plus a PCB mount, fan shroud, fan shroud mount, axial fan, and radial fan.

The performance set comes with everything in the budget version but swaps the LGX ACE Copperhead for an LGX ACE Mosquito hot end, which features a “more efficient” heatbreak and a protective roll cage that Bondtech says allows users to change their nozzles with one hand.

However, the cost of both sets may be surprising given the current $199 MSRP of the Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro. At $229.90 and $299.90 respectively, both kits will require some thought from buyers as to whether they might get more value from investing in an entirely new 3D printer.

Users who already own an LGX ACE extruder can fit it to their Neptune 3 Pro for far less cost with Bondtech’s accessory set that retails for $69.90, which includes all the toolhead mount accessories in the budget kit.
