Chitubox has released version 2.0 of its Chitubox Basic, which arrives with new productivity-focused improvements to the slicing software and several features previously exclusive to Chitubox Pro.

A redesigned UI, first and foremost, aims to provide a more intuitive layout to Chitubox users. New customizable shortcut keys and a configurable file-naming function should also help users enjoy easier and more efficient slicing.

By integrating Standard Parts and Resin Material Alliance, Chitubox Basic 2.0 now stores information related to models, printers, and materials in a centralized location, so users can more easily match their machines to printing profiles.

The update also adds compatibility with rendering engines such as Microsoft Direct X and Apple M Series in an effort to improve model texture and detail. Additionally, a “more intelligent” algorithm works to improve auto-support generation – and as a result, boost overall slicing speed.

Pro-only features now available in Chitubox Basic include collision detection, suspend detection, island detection, and cavity detection – as well as the ability to “visually edit support parameters”.

While this may initially cause concern for Pro users, Chitubox says don’t fret, “more advanced features in the new Chitubox Pro V2.0 in the future” – although there is currently no timeline for when release that may be.
