3D printing service marketplace Craftcloud announces a new collaboration partner, Trinckle, to deliver custom manufacturing jigs and fixtures printed and delivered in just days.

Trinckle, a Berlin-based software company, makes a cloud-based program called Fixturemate that enables anyone to design custom manufacturing jigs and fixtures quickly and intuitively. Once designed, the part’s digital file can be seamlessly uploaded to Craftcloud, where you can select your material, such as carbon-fiber-infused nylon, stainless steel, or aluminum, and receive your parts in days.

Through Craftcloud (using the voucher code “craftcloud”), you can access one month of Fixturemate for free, plus five free fixture file downloads.

“Trinckle and Craftcloud is an ideal partnership for those looking to produce custom made jigs & fixtures,” says Mikkel Kring, Craftcloud’s chief product officer. “The ease of use of Fixturemate combined with the low cost production via Craftcloud makes for a perfect opportunity for those customers who are looking to optimize their custom-ordered jigs & fixtures.”

Jigs & Fixtures in 20 Minutes

Fixturemate software eliminates the hours that even an experienced engineer needs to create fixtures in conventional CAD software. Trinckle says users can generate custom fixtures in as little as 20 minutes because the cloud-based software is designed to be intuitive and easy to use, even for non-CAD experts.

You can either upload your existing digital files (in .STL or .STEP file format) that you use for CNC machining or injection molding, or you can create a tool from scratch by defining parameters, such as the width, height, thickness, or the grid of holes. Fixturemate also provides a range of standard clamps and baseplates to choose from, saving you the time of creating these components from scratch.

Fixturemate automates and simplifies some of the most routine and repetitive tasks in fixture design, while providing a high-degree of customization options.

“The software’s algorithms streamline the design workflow, enabling users of any skill level to produce intricate and accurate fixture designs,” the company says.

3D printing provides a faster and more cost-effective production process for these manufacturing tools, especially in low volumes, when compared to other processes.

“Establishing an additive manufacturing workflow for fixtures results in reduced operational costs, reduced lead times, and improved efficiencies of the work floor,” says Damien Buchbinder, product manager at Trinckle.

Using Fixturemate, any jig or fixture CAD file can be redesigned or slightly altered and reprinted anytime, enabling companies to make last-minute changes or product iterations fast. Exports are optimized for 3D printing, so once your design is complete, upload it to Craftcloud and receive quotes within seconds.
