Creality has announced the CR-10 SE, a 3D printer it says is for “advanced users”.
When released, the machine will boast quite a few attractive features. Alongside its build volume of 220 x 220 x 265 mm, Creality says the CR-10 SE can reach print speeds of up to 600 mm/s and accelerations of up to 8,000 mm/s2.
Linear rails for the X and Y axes will provide stable motion for precise printing, with a CR Touch probe providing auto-leveling and a strain sensor enabling automatic Z-offset. There’s also a flexible PEI build plate, a hotend rated to 300 °C, a Sprite direct-drive extruder, and a cooling fan that Creality says can hit 12,000 RPM.
Users will control the printer with a 4.3-inch touchscreen and leverage the printer’s G-sensor for functions such as input shaping and “motion advance” (pressure advance) to minimize ringing, ghosting, and filament blobs. The printer also features power loss recovery and a filament runout sensor to boost usability and print success.
Notably, the CR-10 SE is running “Creality OS”: a heavily customized (and controversial) version of Klipper that features on the Creality K1.
Though the CR-10 SE’s product page is already live on Creality’s website, along with its $459 price tag, when the it will officially release is not yet clear. However interested parties can currently view the system’s full specs and sign up to be notified when the printer becomes available for purchase.
