Creality may have inadvertently revealed the impending release of new 3D printer: the Ender 3 V3 SE.
The potentially new machine first came to our attention in the V4.3.6 changelog for Creality Print, which dropped quietly on July 14 and added support for “Sermoon M500 and Ender 3 V3 SE printers”.
Since then, the Ender 3 V3 SE has popped up on two Amazon listings – one in Canada and one in Germany – via the Comgrow Store and one on crealityofficial.co.uk which, based on the listed Shenzhen address, appears to be a Comgrow property. Comgrow also owns creality3dofficial.com, which served as Creality’s official reseller before the OEM introduced its own online store. Spec-wise, details on these listings are scant – essentially boiling down to dimensions and weight that differ from other printers in the Ender-3 series – but the images there do seem to show an updated design.
The real evidence, however, exists in this Aliexpress listing, which, unlike Amazon, is detail-heavy. The Ender-3 V3 SE, it seems, is an upgraded version of the Ender-3 V2 – although that may be reductive or untrue, as it doesn’t quite explain the “SE” name.
Regardless, based on the information in the listing, Creality claims the machine can reach speeds of up to 250 mm/s. If the specs are accurate, the machine will also a feature a build volume of 220 x 220 x 250 mm, auto-leveling, a direct-drive extruder, a dual Z-axis, dual linear Y-axis shafts, and automatic filament loading and unloading. There’s also mention of an “optimized” UI that shows auto-leveling progress and printing parameters – although how that differs from what’s currently available on Creality machines is not clear.
The listings all appear to be pre-existing Ender 3 listings that have been edited for the Ender 3 V3 SE. They show prices ranging from about $250 – $430. More interestingly, the Aliexpress listing names a September 30 release date. That’s quite a ways off, especially considering the amount of information here. Although again, this is essentially all gleaned from third-party channels (excepting the Creality Print name-drop), meaning anything and everything here is subject to change – and potentially flat-out inaccurate – until Creality makes things official.
We’ve reached out to Creality for comment and will keep you updated there. Until then, temper your expectations.
Update: Creality confirmed to All3DP that it is “due to launch a new series including the V3 SE in September”, suggesting the V3 SE is just the tip of the iceberg for new Creality products. The OEM declined to share further details for the time being, so check back for more info as it’s revealed.
