Following its leak earlier this month, Creality has officially launched the Ender 3 V3 SE 3D printer.

The specs detailed in the leaks seem to be accurate. The machine does indeed feature a build volume of 220 x 220 x 250 mm, for example, as well as the sleek, compact design we saw in the renders. Creality also still says the machine can reach print speeds of up to 250 mm/s (with an average speed of 180 mm/s).

A Sprite direct-drive extruder, auto-leveling – which we now know is by way of Creality’s CR Touch sensor – dual Z-axis, dual Y-axis linear rods (guiding what appears to be a fixed bed), and automatic filament loading and unloading are additional features that previously leaked and still remain. The same goes for the reworked UI that shows information related to print progress and auto-leveling. The official specs now refer to the UI as “dynamic” rather than “optimized”, however, thanks to the UI’s use of “motion graphics”.

Newly revealed are details regarding the machine’s acceleration, which Creality says can hit speeds of up to 2500 mm/s². We also now see the addition of a strain sensor for automatic Z-offset, a flexible, magnetic build plate with rear alignment screws to help guide the plate back into position after its removal, and a front-mounted SD card slot and USB-C port.

At $199, the Ender 3 V3 SE seems to be a lot of printer for the money. It’s less expensive than the Ender 3 V2’s MSRP (although that machine is currently on sale on Creality’s website for $189), and seemingly marketed as an entry-level product. With specs like these, however, it’s hard to think of the Ender 3 V3 SE that way. Perhaps “mid-range” is more apt?

For the full rundown of the printer, visit the Ender 3 V3 SE’s product page on Creality’s website, where you can also place an order with an expected August 20th ship date.
