Creality has opened preorders for the Creality Falcon2, its most powerful laser engraver yet at 22 watts. That’s a substantial jump from the OEM’s previous entry to laser engraving, the CR-Laser Falcon Engraver, which came in 10W and 5W versions.
To provide its power, the Falcon2 relies on four 6W laser diodes, enabling the machine to cut 15 mm of “wood” (which exact woods haven’t been specified), 10 mm of acrylic, or 0.05 mm of stainless steel sheeting in one pass. It’s also built for speed, with Creality claiming the Falcon2 works up to two times faster than competitors. Integrated air assist, meanwhile, improves cutting quality and can be manually adjusted with a knob or automatically through LightBurn laser engraving and cutting software.
There’s also no need for a full-time internet connection, as a microSD card slot and offline dynamic preview give users control over when and how they use their machine. The system is capable of engraving stainless steel in “hundreds of colors” by creating a physical reaction in the material, Creality says.
Safety-wise, the Falcon2 is packed with features. Its aluminum alloy design improves stability and its triple monitoring system alerts users to airflow-, lens-, or flame-related issues should they arise. Additionally, there’s a bidirectional limit switch, an active stop function in case of accidental movement such as tilting, a security lock, an emergency stop button, and an eye-protective cover made of filtered glass.
Assembly seems to be a simple, three-step process as the frame is pre-assembled and only the laser module and air assist require mounting. Three adjustment holes – and removable adjustment risers – allow for fine-tuning of the Falcon2’s width and height.
Pre-orders for the Falcon2 are open now on Creality’s online store, where an early bird pre-sale runs until February 17 and knocks down the machine’s price to $999 from an MSRP of $1,199. And, you can use the code “Falcon2” for an additional $50 off. All pre-sale orders will be shipped on February 25, with an estimated early March delivery date.
