Recent months have seen a transformation of sorts at Creality. Shifting away from one-and-done kits that were for the most part quickly forgotten for the next, the company now offers a stable of upgradable releases alongside an inventory of separate add-ons.

Those add-ons, increasingly, come from reputable OEMs. The latest to join the list is Britain’s E3D, the Oxfordshire-based 3D printer component manufacturer responsible for icons such as the V6 hot end and Titan extruder.

Following a back and forth on Twitter prompted by Maker’s Muse receiving, and subsequently questioning a package from Creality bearing E3D’s hallmarks, both Creality and E3D have confirmed that the two have partnered. The first product of this cooperation is a Titan extruder upgrade for Creality’s recent CR-10 V2 release.

The news has been met with no small amount of jubilation by a segment of the 3D printing crowd on Twitter. It marks the latest in a saga of highs and lows as Creality made moves to open up its hardware and software.
