Creality is exhibiting at CES again this year where it unveiled the new “Hi” CFS-compatible bed slinger, has announced the new Soleyin material line, and is giving attendees a chance to win up to discounts toward the K2 Plus or K2 Plus Combo.
The Creality Hi 3D printer was revealed earlier in the week, bringing a budget-friendly bed slinger into the company’s CFS-compatible offerings. We’re especially interested in the system’s “step-servo motors with FOC algorithms” and the implications therein. The $299 Creality Hi and $469 Creality Hi Combo seem like an undercutting answer to the Bambu Lab A1 bed slinger and its AMS Lite. It’s good to see another budget printer with an enclosed, chainable filament changer.
However, you might not need a new 3D printer to start using the CFS. Creality has also now introduced the K1 CFS upgrade kit promised at the Creality 10-year anniversary event in April last year.
If you need new materials to fill those CFS, Creality also announced a new filament “sub-brand” called Soleyin that launched with Ultra PLA in 10 colors, and a Matte Ultra PLA available in six. Creality calls the material “eco-friendly”, but it’s unclear whether that references anything beyond the typical PLA greenwashing.
Materials outside the new Soleyin line also launched this week, including a Hyper Rainbow PLA, Hyper PETG, Hyper PLA-CF, and a PPA-CF that we’ve yet to see in Creality’s online shop.
Leaning into the Vegas spirit, Creality asked CES attendees to bet their old 3D printers for a chance to win one of 100 discounts of up to $500 off the K2 Plus or K2 Plus Combo – or just make a post on social media (much less “when in Ceasars Palace”). Entries gave attendees a roll of three dice where a pair of matching numbers won a $300 coupon, a “straight” (three consecutive numbers) won $400, and three-of-a-kind won $500. Did you buy a plane ticket for your old 3D printer?
Correction – Jan 14, 2025: Creality amended a previous statement, noting that only 100 coupons were available at CES.
