Creality has announced the release of its latest FDM 3D printer — a “quasi-industrial” machine dubbed the CR-M4 — for tomorrow, February 3, 2023, set to retail at $1,099.
The new machine boasts an extra-large 450 x 450 x 470 mm build volume well-suited to the creation of large-scale models, with a dual Z-axis and two support rods reducing gantry sagging and Z-wobbling. Meanwhile, its dual Y-axis linear rails are made of bearing steel to boost print accuracy and overall printer durability.
Additionally, Creality’s self-developed “Sprite” dual-gear, all-metal, direct extruder – which features a 50W heater cartridge and high-flow hot end – can fully melt high-temperature filaments at 300°C. Compatible materials include PLA, PA (nylon), heat-resistant ABS, PLA-Wood, PLA-CF, flexible TPU, and PETG.
Perhaps most notable about the CR-M4, however, is a multi-printer control feature that enables users to print or monitor directly from Creality Cloud Web, or from any PC on the LAN. This will undoubtedly interest anyone running a print farm or printing in large batches, as all systems on the LAN will be able to print the same model on a single command.
The CR-M4 also features 25-point auto-leveling, a 4.3-inch color touchscreen, and a heated four-layer build platform comprised of a magnetic base with two pins for quick snapping, spring steel, and a PC coating.
