The Anycubic Photon is unquestionably the dominant budget resin 3D printer (it’s our pick for Summer 2019). Smooshing usability and quality results together with a hard-to-beat price tag, Anycubic found a sweet spot that few others have successfully challenged.
For the foreseeable future, the Photon’s hard-to-beat price is even harder-to-beat, dropping from the company’s usual $419 down to $299. For that money, you’re getting a 115 x 65 x 155 mm build volume atop a 2K LCD screen giving 47-microns X/Y resolution. A lot of numbers, that really translate to ‘pretty small build volume, but super high detail prints.’
A newer model Photon recently released, the Photon S, but its upgraded features are a hard sell when you can pick up the still-ever-so-capable Photon for so little.
