E3D has announced the release of the Revo Prusa Mini Edition, a drop-in replacement for Prusa Mini and Mini+ 3D printers – and yet another entry to the ever-growing RapidChange Revo ecosystem.

Revo hot ends include nozzles with integrated heat breaks that enable toolless nozzle swapping at room temperature. To do so, they make use of the Revo’s HeaterCore heater blocks, which have positive temperature coefficients and reduce hazards in the event of thermal runaway.

The Revo Prusa Mini Edition is a model-specific version of the lightweight Revo Micro. It features a reworked thermistor extension cable with a Prusa connector and is fully compatible with stock Prusa firmware (and, of course, all Revo nozzles). Once installed, E3D says, the Revo Prusa Mini Edition results in a toolhead that is 25 g lighter – undeniably a benefit, given the Prusa Mini’s cantilevered X-axis.

The setup is relatively simple, with no wire crimping or extra printing required. Instead, users remove the two screws that hold their existing hot end in place and attach the included bracket, which is 3D printed in Prusament Jet Black PETG.

Buyers who “upgrade” their machines will ostensibly enjoy all the benefits of any other Revo hot end; which you can read about in our review of the Revo CR, a replacement for MK8-style hot ends on Creality 3D printers such as the Ender 3 series.

Alternatively, buyers can opt for the “fully loaded kit” for £128.30 (~$157), which comes with everything aforementioned, plus a 0.25, 0.60, and 0.80 mm nozzle.
