Enable3D has announced a collaboration with an “Ikea hacker”, in which the company is offering free STLs to help users improve or upgrade the Swedish retail giant’s products.

The Uppgradera Collection 3 is industrial designer Adam Miklosi’s third series of Ikea hacks in his Uppgradera project, which aims to “solve real problems and with a little bit of ‘uppgradera'”, according to his website.

There are five hacks in the collection, each for a specific Ikea product: a drying rack clamp, for instance, that prevents the brand’s Frost drying rack from inadvertently disassembling when removing clothes, or a ring for the Uppfylld grater, to keep grated food from falling onto your floor or counter.

Rounding out the collection are designs for a separator for the Tisken toothbrush holder, a clothes hanger stopper for the Mulig clothes rack, and a cupholder for the Tillgang tray. All are available for download on Enable 3D’s website and Printables page. There, you can also find GIFs and images that show exactly how each hack functions. Additional information is available about the Uppgradera project on Miklosi’s website.

The designs themselves look to be relatively simple. Couple that with the PDF included with each STL that provides information relating to printer settings and materials, and we don’t foresee anyone having serious difficulties creating their hacks. As for the assembly of Ikea products? Well, no promises there.
