Endeer is a company created by two women who are starting a “bravolution”. They’re using 3D printing to create bras which fit and feel comfortable, rather than just look good. The first bra design, called “SHAPE”, has now been launched on IndieGoGo.

Mathilde Alloin and Claire Chabaud are the co-founders of Endeer, a company which is using tech solutions to improve the lingerie industry. They’ve recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo for a new bra.

The aim of Endeer is to create lingerie which actually fits the wearer, offers breast support and is comfortable. SHAPE is their first 3D printed underwired bra. It’s clear that this idea is popular as already the campaign has smashed its funding goal of €7,000, raising €11,611 thanks to 148 backers and there’s still a month to go.

Pledges start at €30. For this, you’ll be supporting the campaign and taking part in the “bravolution” by helping change views of women’s bodies. However, to receive a bra, you’ll need to pledge €80. For now, this is only available for people in France. French speakers, check out the campaign video:

The Inspiration Behind SHAPE

The inspiration for Endeer came back in 2010 while Chabaud was shopping in Shanghai and found a bra which she’d recently bought in France. She explains: “It was at this moment that I wondered how a woman with an Asian morphology could wear the same lingerie as me, a Western woman.”

From here, the idea of creating bras which focus on a person’s body, rather than on beauty standards, was born. However, it wasn’t until Chabaud came across 3D printing that she realized her vision fully.

Endeer was created in 2016, when Alloin got onboard and the women started working together. In the last two years, they’ve developed countless prototypes and are confident that Endeer is the most comfortable bra option around.

The process for creating a SHAPE bra has three steps. First, a 3D scan is taken using an iPhone. Next, the Endeer technology creates a customized support underwire and is ready to be 3D printed. Finally, the underwire is put inside the bra material and ready to wear.

The women point out in the campaign that the underwire is removable. This means that after it has been 3D printed, you won’t need to buy extra support. You can simply buy the fabric for a new bra and swap in the underwire.

After purchasing the initial investment of underwire, later designs from Endeer will be at a lower price as the 3D scanning and printing process won’t need to be repeated.

This is only the beginning for Endeer as the co-founders have now filed two international patents. Hopefully, the bras will soon be available worldwide and not just in France.
