Fabreeko has opened preorders for a “Rev D” update of its DIY Voron Trident and Voron 2.4 kits, which are a partnership with LDO Motors.
The update sees new features and improvements to both kits, the most major of which is a switch from an Octopus to a Leviathan controller board, which boasts TMC 5160 drivers and a mount for a Raspberry Pi.
Another standout addition is a Nitehawk SB Toolhead, a USB toolhead that eliminates the need for breakout cables by using a single wire, and has an integrated accelerometer.
Rounding out the Rev D upgrade is a Bondtech IDGA Extruder gear that Fabreeko says works to boost print accuracy, 3D printed parts from LDO that are “designed for superior performance and durability”, a magnetic sheet that has been pre-glued to the aluminum build plate, and other “quality of life” improvements like “pre terminated wiring”.
Kits for the Voron 2.4 currently start at $1,299.99, and those for the Trident at $1,169.99. Both are now open for preorder, although Fabreeko says on its website that they should ship within 24 hours.
