A mother and her two sons are trying to increase donations to help koala populations affected by fires in Australia with the help of 3D printing.
14-year-old Mason got an Ender 3 for Christmas and at the suggestion of his grandparents, started printing mini koalas using this design on Tinkercad.
His mother, Nicole Lott, and his younger brother paint them and together they’ve been giving these mini koala keychains to anyone who donates $5 to the Adelaide Koala Rescue and gives proof along with their email and shipping address.
“With your donation we can help “Adelaide Koala Rescue” give hope to more koalas like this one here,” the family wrote on their Facebook page, Prints for a Cause, along with a photo of a rescued koala.
The family has had an “overwhelming response and requests,” they wrote on their Facebook page.
