FlashForge has launched its newest 3D printer tailored towards the consumer market and education setting. Touted as a beginner-friendly 3D printer that also meets the needs of true 3D printing makers, Flashforge Artemis is a new workhorse 3D printer that provides excellent reliability and print quality – along with several intuitive features.
A renowned manufacturer of consumer and commercial 3D printers, Flashforge has gained a positive reputation of making 3D printing truly accessible for at-home users. With an unwavering focus on offering feature-rich machines at an affordable price, Flashforge has become a market-leader in the consumer space.
Nearly a decade after the release of its original top-rated Flashforge Creator 3D printer, the manufacturer has consistently released many models of 3D printers and systems, making a positive and impactful impact on the industry and its customers.
Flashforge Artemis is a versatile FDM 3D printer that utilizes filament extrusion technology to build 3D objects layer by layer. With its direct drive extruder system, the printer can print with flexible materials such as TPU, which are typically difficult to print. The printhead can reach a maximum temperature of 260°C, enough to utilize a wide variety of filament, such as PLA, ABS, HIPS, PETG, TPU 95A, and more.
The 3D printer’s build plate has a maximum temperature range of up to 110°C. Users can choose to swap between a glass or PEI magnetic bed, giving them control to optimize the print operation based on their individual printing needs. With the glass bed, the bottom layer of printed objects come out smoother, while the magnetic and flexible bed makes it much easier to remove finished prints.
FlashForge engineered Artemis with a generously large print area of 190(L) × 195(W) × 200(H) mm. The Z-axis is tall enough to fit a standard 8” bottle of water, giving users the ability to expand their creative limits.
Other notable features include print resume after power failure, a filament run-out sensor, and nearly silent print operation – ideal for both the home and classroom environment.
Artemis is designed to be compatible with various third-party slicing software and is not limited to FlashForge’s proprietary FlashPrint. This provides a seamless user experience for those who may be more familiar with other slicing software on the market.
For users who prefer to stay within the FlashForge ecosystem, the Flashprint slicing software is a highly capable slicing software that works natively with Artemis. With a 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen, navigating and adjusting the settings of Artemis is a breeze. Users can also conviently update the firmware and operate the 3D printer via the user interface. Leveraging Wi-Fi compatibility, users can send the model from the slicing software directly to Artemis without any cable connections.
A versatile and intuitive 3D printer, Flashforge Artemis is ideal for a wide-range of users, including makers, begineers, students, teachers, and everyone in between.
