A design contest from Bambu Lab and Nothing, makers of the CMF Phone 1, is underway – and is challenging users to give the CMF an upgrade.
The CMF Phone 1 is unique for its removable backplate, with simple standard screws to mount it and a larger button screw for accessories. To facilitate the contest, Nothing has made a STEP file of CMF Phone 1’s rear case and the device’s dimensions available. From there, it’s up to the entrants to create, well, whatever they desire.
Running until August 14, the contest promises a CMF Phone 1 and a Bambu Lab A1 Mini Combo to three winners in three categories: “Best Functional”, “Best Looking”, and “Most Unexpected”. Twelve additional winners will each receive a $50 Bambu Lab gift card. And, because the contest has been running for about two weeks, late entries should have no problem finding inspiration.
Once ready, users simply upload their designs to Makerworld and wait to be judged. In the meantime, of course, those of you hoping to win the contest’s printer prize could print your (or someone else’s) creation with All3DP’s Craftcloud 3D printing service. Or, if you’d rather print your own, you can always consult our 3D printer buyer’s guide to help you choose the machine that’s best for you.
