The UniFormation 3D printer team, based in Shenzhen, China, successfully captured the attention of the 3D printing community last year with the user-friendly nature of its product line.

The team has recently announced its latest large-format resin 3D printer – the GK3 Ultra 16K. The pre-sale for this machine will open this Wednesday, July 24th, at 00:00 UTC-8.

In response to user demand for larger sizes, UniFormation’s newest addition, the GK3 Ultra, features a 13.5-inch build volume of 300x160x300mm, which is double the volume of the previous model – the GK2. This size increase allows multiple miniatures or oversized terrain pieces to be printed in a single print.

As the first 16K resin printer on the market, the GK3 Ultra delivers an XY pixel size of 20*26μm and a resolution of 15120 x 6230, producing exceptional quality prints without losing any details, even for 32mm batch prints. This is perfect for professional hobbyists and industry engineers that require high resolution prints but are working on a budget.

In cold climes, one crucial factor that discourages people from using resin 3D printers is the negative effect on resin viscosity. The GK3 Ultra addresses this issue by offering a built-in PTC ceramic heater to warm the printer to 25°C or 30°C before it starts printing, ensuring the best possible resin heat consistency throughout the printing process.

Additionally, the long-awaited auto resin refill system has been integrated into the GK3 Ultra, solving the common problem of having an insufficient amount of resin in the vat for large prints. Its built-in design allows for easy loading and replacement, ensuring prints can continue unscathed when it comes time to add more resin.

To improve printing performance, UniFormation’s new release also adopts an industrial ultra-stable Z-axis construction with two linear rails and a ball screw design. This results in less wobble and fewer layer lines, leading to higher precision and performance.

UniFormation maintains its simplified design concept that makes operating this 3D printer a real delight. The GK3 Ultra not only comes with an upgraded quick-release system for the build plate and vat, but also adds a side resin drip hanger to remove excess resin. Moreover, there are thoughtful designs like sealed stripes along the cover for a better working environment, an LED light for easier observation, and Wi-Fi settings for rapid file transfer. The GK3 Ultra ultimately offers users a swift and hassle-free workflow efficiency to elevate the printing experience.

In terms of software, the GK3 Ultra is compatible with UniFormation Slicer (modified from Prusa), Chitubox, and Lychee.

The UniFormation GK3 Ultra 16K is available for preorder today with early bird prices starting from $999.99 on the UniFormation official website.
