Raspberry Pi is standing behind the security of its new RP2350 microcontroller – and is betting $10,000 you can’t hack it.
The RP2350 was recently launched alongside the Pico 2 microcontroller board. Its security is a major USP, as is transparency regarding its documentation, which is available to all users.
As of last week, a bounty offer for the RP2350 is in play, running for 30 days from its announcement at the Aug 12-13 Def Con 32 hacking convention. Anyone can enter; all they have to do is set up their microcontroller according to Raspberry Pi’s parameters. The first person to hack the device and divulge the “secret” in its OTP wins the money.
A GitHub repository holds all the information those interested in participating will need to get started. You’ll also want to read the bounty program’s announcement blog post on Raspberry Pi’s website.
Other than that, there’s not much else to do but get hacking. Best of luck!
