LONGER introduces its new Nano series, featuring the Galvo-system Nano Duo Laser (20W Diode + 2W IR) and the Nano Ruby Laser (Single 2W IR). These models, which incorporate an AI system developed with substantial investment, are being offered on Kickstarter starting 9:00 AM EST February 11, 2025, with prices beginning at $599 and $999, respectively.
The Nano Duo integrates advanced AI technology, dual laser power, and an expanded working area. By combining a 20W blue light laser and a 2W red light laser, the device is engineered to work with a range of materials including wood, metal, and glass. An industrial-grade galvanometer and proprietary motion control algorithms allow the Nano Duo to achieve speeds up to 10,000 mm/s and precision within 0.00199 mm, enabling detailed engravings and subtle 3D reliefs on wood.
The Nano Duo and Nano Ruby continue LONGER’s focus on portability, precision, and speed. Building on the success of previous models, the Nano Duo is aimed at creators seeking enhanced capabilities from their tools. It builds on the established Nano series by adding features such as AI-generated images, AI positioning, AI placement sensing, AI focus control, AI preview, and auto batch sync. These functions are designed to streamline the engraving process and improve accuracy.
One key function of the Nano Duo is its ability to generate images from text or conceptual input. The AI produces multiple image options within seconds, allowing creators to develop logos, intricate designs, or custom artwork without the need for extensive manual searches.
The Nano Duo’s AI positioning and placement sensing functions reduce the need for manual adjustments by automatically detecting material placement. This helps ensure that patterns are accurately positioned regardless of the material’s size or type, minimizing waste and improving workflow efficiency.
To ensure consistent engraving quality, the AI Focus Control feature automatically adjusts the laser’s focus based on the distance to the material. This real-time adaptation is especially useful for materials of varying thicknesses, resulting in clear and precise engravings.
Before engraving begins, the AI Preview function provides a real-time visualization of the project. This preview helps users align their designs and verify that they fit within the material’s boundaries. If necessary, the AI suggests adjustments to reduce errors and material waste.
For larger projects or multiple pieces, the Auto Batch Sync feature automates the engraving process across all items. This ensures uniformity and precision during mass production, while the fill function applies consistent laser patterns to complete the design.
Additional accessories designed for the Nano series include a Dual-Axis Extension to expand the working area (compatible with LONGER’s AI Smart Track Vertical Cut), a Rotary Extension for curved objects, a Conveyor Belt for batch engraving, a portable carrying bag, and a power bank for outdoor use. Safety features include a protective cover and an air purifier. The standard working area of the Nano Duo is 160 × 140 mm, which can be extended to 300 × 300 mm using the Dual-Axis Extension. The machine is capable of cutting through wood up to 16 mm thick in a single pass, with smart track technology ensuring precise vertical cuts.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, USB, APP, and SD card support. The Nano Duo is compatible with popular software platforms such as LightBurn and LaserGRBL, as well as LONGER’s own LaserBurn software. This software supports functions like AI-generated images, auto focus and preview, AI placement sensing, and batch auto sync. The device also features a 2.8-inch touch screen and an SD card slot, which allow for standalone outdoor operation.
Measuring 590 × 590 × 400 mm, this accessory expands the working area to 300 × 300 mm. It is engineered to address issues such as non-vertical cuts and edge thinning often seen in larger, galvo-based engraving machines. By maintaining the material directly beneath the laser head through intelligent tracking, the extension helps achieve precise vertical cuts and improved overall accuracy.
With dimensions of 550 × 450 × 93 mm, the conveyor belt further expands the working area to 160 × ∞. When used with LaserBurn software, it enables automated batch engraving with AI detection and filling functions, simplifying the process and improving efficiency.
This extension increases the working area of Nano series engravers to 160 × 300 mm. It includes built-in scales and fixtures for alignment and secure positioning during batch engraving.
The size 150*170mm, designed to protect the desk from laser damage while providing better engraving and cutting results. Its unique structure helps to evenly distribute the laser’s energy, preventing heat buildup and improving precision.
Designed for engraving cylindrical objects such as goblets, thermos cups, mugs, rings, and balls, the rotary extension includes a chuck, support module, and various jaws. It accommodates objects with widths ranging from 1 mm to 150 mm for secure and detailed engraving.
The enclosure is made from flame-retardant materials, includes a 12038 fan, 100mm exhaust tube for smoke and dust extraction, and can connect to an air purifier. Multiple windows provide real-time monitoring of the engraving process.
Working in conjunction with the enclosure, the purifier uses multi-layer filtration to remove over 99% of smoke and odors, ensuring cleaner air quality during operation.
A lightweight carrying case made of fabric and plastic, the portable bag facilitates the easy transportation of the Nano series machine.
Designed for outdoor use, the mobile power supply can power the Nano series for over three hours, allowing for continued operation away from conventional power sources.
LONGER presents what it describes as one of the most advanced AI laser engraving machines available. The Kickstarter campaign introduces the Nano Ruby (Single 2W IR) for $599 and the Nano Duo (20W Diode + 2W IR) for $999. These models aim to offer high-performance engraving capabilities at a competitive price point for both beginners and experienced users.
The Nano Duo, with its dual-light configuration, is noted for enhanced cutting ability and versatility compared to the Nano Ruby. Both machines are designed to deliver quality results across a range of applications, offering an opportunity to experience advanced laser engraving technology at a competitive price.
