Mingda has opened orders for its latest 3D printer, the Magician X2. Like its predecessor, the Magician X, the Magician X2 boasts 16-point auto-leveling, a 230 x 230 x 260 mm build volume, a 3.5-inch color touchscreen, and a multi-connection, front-facing hub compatible with USB-C, USB-A, and SD cards.

After that, the two machines diverge, perhaps most notably in the Magician X2’s quick-swap, dual-gear extruder; simplifying an already easy three-step assembly process. A new motherboard fan and motor fan, meanwhile — plus cooling holes in the printer’s base —  allow the Magician X2 to run faster and dissipate heat more efficiently.

The Magician X2’s slightly updated design improves overall aesthetics with hideaway X-axis and hot-bed cables adding a sleek, streamlined touch. The X2’s PEI build plate is a spring steel sheet with a special coating applied to enable better print adhesion and prevent warping, and a side-mounted knob allows X and Y belt tension to be adjusted by hand. There’s also a filament sensor, a hot-end temperature LED indicator, and dual Z-axis lead screws for improved accuracy and stability.

You can place an order for the Magician X2 now, with shipping beginning in early April. Orders shipped from the US warehouse are currently available for $269, with those from the EU warehouse priced at $279. Both prices are rather significant discounts on the listed MSRP of $349.
