Time To Think About Design for AM
It is our pleasure to present the NAMIC Summit 2019, and the seventh edition of NAMIC AM summit series. This year’s summit is our longest yet, featuring a week of AM-centric activities and programmes, anchored by our flagship conference, where we shine a light on Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) in unlocking the value.
DfAM is a huge departure from the traditional Design for Manufacturing (DFM) because it empowers engineers and designers with design freedom unencumbered by the limitations of conventional subtractive manufacturing technologies.
Held from May 6-10, 2019 in Singapore, we have gathered prominent thought- leaders from the global AM community, including over 300 local and international delegates, as well as leading industry players such as Siemens, Autodesk, Ansys, Materialise, Hyperganic, Assembrix, The Barnes Group and more. We will also be launching Singapore’s first AM business magazine directory, leveraging on NAMIC’s professional network.

This includes the SUTD – Miniwiz Sustainability in AM Design Thinking Workshop and AM Design Workshops conducted by Autodesk and Materialise, among others. We will also be presenting the third run of the UL-NAMIC Fundamentals of AM certification course, as well as the inaugural AM Quality and Production Management Programme conducted by TÜV SÜD.
Another key highlight is the Start-up Innovation Forum which aims to bring out global solutions led by our entrepreneurs. It is moderated by a panel comprising of selected VC and agency partners, including TNB Ventures, SGInnovate and Enterprise Singapore and more to spur the budding start-up scene in the region.
