Xometry is looking for nominees to apply for its first Xometry Engineering Student of the Year Competition — could that be you?
“At Xometry, we love working with engineering students. Their energy and creativity inspire us,” said Bill Cronin, Xometry’s chief revenue officer. “That’s why we are excited to create this annual award.”
Applicants can be either an undergraduate or graduate but they must be a student at a US college or university and majoring in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology or a “closely related field.”
The award will go to someone who “best embodies” traits such as creativity, academic excellence, and passion for engineering. The prize for winning is a $1,000 scholarship, a CAD mouse, and a 3D printed trophy.
Whoever wins can also expect to be featured on the Xometry website and the story will be shared with the company’s customers and partners.
Would you like to nominate a student to be the Xometry Engineering Student of the Year? All you need to do is visit the company’s website and enter the student’s name, email address, and university.
You’ll also need to write around 100 words about how your nominee exhibits all three traits that Xometry requires.
If you’re a student from 2-year and 4-year schools and are eligible, you can also nominate yourself. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2019.
Xometry executives and manufacturing experts will then judge the entrants and the winner will be announced in mid-May 2019. Good luck!
