Peopoly’s much-anticipated Magneto X 3D printer, a beltless machine that sold out in preorders, has been delayed two weeks.

The mass-produced components the company planned to use in its machines caused printing inconsistencies that were not noticeable in pre-production units. The issue has been investigated and resolved, Peopoly wrote in a blog post yesterday, requiring updates to a PCB board within the Magneto X’s driver system. The change will result in a small “10-15 day delay”, pushing the printer’s shipping dates from the end of this month to mid-December, Peopoly says.

It’s hard to fault the transparency and accountability on display here. Delays in production happen. And, really, two weeks is short in the scheme of things – especially if it results in a functional 3D printer that works as described. For more on the delay of the Magneto X, check out Peopoly’s blog post. You can also visit the Magneto X’s product page to learn more about the printer itself.
