Peopoly has announced that its beltless FDM 3D printer, the Magneto X, is ready for full-scale production. The machines are expected to begin shipping by the end of this month, the OEM said in a recent blog post.
The announcement comes as a breath of fresh air amidst industry-wide delays of late, including products with releases still to come. A good thing, too – the Magneto X sold out in preorders after an excitement-generating reveal that elicited comments from many notable figures in the 3D printing world.
In addition to the Magneto X being on track, Peopoly has also announced two add-ons for the machine: an active heater and an air filtration system. The active heater will work to maintain a consistent printing temperature, and will be especially effective with ABS, ASA, and Nylon materials, Peopoly said. The air filtration system will “effectively remove particles and VOCs”.
We’re especially interested in hearing more about the air filtration system. Enclosures and simple filtration like charcoal filters may do something to help the spread of VOCs, but are no stand-in for proper ventilation. Peopoly didn’t say whether that’s the filtration it has in mind, though.
There’s no word on pricing or release timelines for either add-on. For the full write-up, check out Peopoly’s blog post. You can also visit the Magneto X’s product page for more information.
