Peopoly has released LinearMotorHost, a free Windows software tool that allows users to analyze and fine-tune the linear motors on Magneto X 3D printers.
The software is also compatible with the company’s recently released DIY linear motor kit, Peopoly has confirmed to All3DP.
After downloading the tool, users will be able to see how their motors are performing in real-time, with data visualized in “dynamic, multi-dimensional graphs”.
Additionally, the software automatically detects and calibrates parameters like inductance values, and offers a platform on which to adjust gain, apply frequency filters, and achieve the best performance possible on a project-by-project basis.
While it may seem complex at the outset, Peopoly assures the tool’s user-friendliness and encourages experimentation with it. That said, any questions that may arise can probably be answered on LinearMotorHost’s comprehensive wiki page.
There, you’ll find everything you’ll need to get started, including a step-by-step walkthrough of the software’s various features and a download link (it’s only available for Windows PC). Before that, you may want to stop by Peopoly’s blog post introducing the tool for the at-a-glance big picture.
