In an email to All3DP, Phrozen revealed the upcoming release of a budget version of its 8K resin 3D printer: the Sonic Mini 8K S.

At an expected $300 MSRP, the budget 8K 3D printer will be priced to compete with lower-resolution machines from brands like Anycubic and Elegoo, opening the gates for those new to the space – or who just want to save a bit of cash.

Phrozen’s email was sparse in details, including any specs outside of resolution, but named jewelry and miniatures as potential use cases – along with students, hobbyists, and those managing print farms among the machine’s target audience.

The Sonic Mini 8K S will launch on May 17, but more about the product will be revealed when it is shown at the Rapid+TCT trade show in Chicago, which runs May 2nd to 4th.
