Phrozen has delayed its Arco 3D printer and Chroma Kit MMU for the second time.

The new delay pushes the devices from November 2024 to an April 2025 release. They were originally scheduled to launch in July 2024.

First posted in the “Phrozen Arco FDM 3D Printer Launch Group” Facebook group and then confirmed to All3DP via email, Phrozen attributes the latest delay to both design changes and the Chinese New Year from mid-January to early February.

The design changes include a switch from one to four feeding tubes for the Chroma Kit – a move Phrozen says was predicated on user concerns during the Kickstarter campaign, and which should result in improved print reliability and speeds, as well as reduced rates of print failure and filament tearing, as filament will no longer need to be retracted at such constant rates.

Additionally, rather than desiccant packs, with which the Chroma Kit was set to ship, the device will now arrive with a “built-in drying function.” Details here are more scarce, although the function should work to increase “filament longevity.”

These new features require Phrozen to put the Chroma Kit through additional testing and optimization, hence the second delay. You can find more details on a Reddit post containing a screenshot from the Facebook group. At the time of this writing, the Facebook group remains locked.
