Phrozen, the popular consumer resin 3D printer maker investing heavily into dental 3D printing in the past few years, is launching new dental-market-focused machines at the International Dental Show (IDS) 2025, March 25 – 29 in Cologne, Germany.
Phrozen was one of the first brands to introduce 8K resolution in resin printers, enabling extremely detailed prints that were especially useful for miniatures, dental models, and jewelry. Their Sonic Mini 8K was a game-changer for hobbyists needing ultra-high detail.
The new Sonic CS+ and Sonic LS+, accompanied by new accessory equipment, represent Phrozen bringing its fast, detailed, easy to use machines to the dental market in a full ecosystem. “At Phrozen, our mission is to make digital dentistry accessible and easy for every clinic and lab,” said Ray Wu, Phrozen’s CEO.
The company says that its resin 3D printers are so easy to use, that anyone to start printing in as little as 10 minutes. There’s an AI-powered DS Slicer that automatically orients and supports models for easy preparation.
The Sonic CS+ features a build volume of 165 x 71 x 175 mm with two build plate sizes; one can accommodate several arch models when the smaller is for a few detailed dental crowns. Phrozen says the machine is ideal for temporary restorations, surgical guides, occlusal splints, and all-on-X hybrid dentures, with a 385nm LCD and 22-micron XY resolution and print speeds up to 100 mm/h. As a chairside solution, the Sonic CS+ features a built-in air purifier system and a 7-inch touch screen.
The larger Sonic LS+ enables higher-volume production with a larger print surface that can handle about 20 full-arch models or 35 occlusal splints per batch. The LS+ can print up to eight models in under 40 minutes and features a built-in heater and validated setting for dental model resins.
Phrozen’s dental lineup includes the new Sonic CS+ and new accessory equipment including the Cure+, V-Cure, Heat & Mix, and Trim+.
For post-curing, Cure+ speeds up the curing process and strengthens polymer bonds, says Phrozen, with “flash curing” and controlled heating at 60°C, “maximizing both the biocompatibility and mechanical strength of printed dental appliances.” The V-Cure’s oxygen-free vacuum curing eliminates the need for glycerin baths or nitrogen setups, offering a clean, safe post-curing solution, the company points out. Heat & Mix automates resin mixing, ensuring consistency for high-viscosity and additive-filled resins.
Completing the workflow, Trim+ automates clear aligner trimming, reducing manual labor and cutting processing time to just 1–1.5 minutes per aligner.
As part of its line of dental solutions at IDS, Phrozen has teased a metal 3D printer called Forge, but has not released any details. Seemingly a metal laser powder bed fusion machine and accompanying sintering oven, the Forge is for producing implants, bridges, and other dental appliances.
As soon as Phrozen releases more information on these two new printers, including the price, we’ll update you here. The company told All3DP that Sonic CS+ & CUure+ will be available from March 25, while Sonic LS+ and V-Cure are estimated to be available in Q3 or Q4 2025, and the CS+ will be priced $4,500 below the Formlabs Form 4B and the Shining 3D AccuFab-Cel. The LS+ will be $5,500 for less than the Sprintray Pro 2 or the Asiga Ultra 50.
