Qidi Tech has revealed its latest 3D printer: the Plus4, a mid-sized, Klipper-based CoreXY machine with an in-chamber heater for printing warp-prone, engineering-grade materials.
At a glance, the Plus4 seems to be a powered-up version of the Plus3 on nearly all fronts. It has a build volume of 305 x 305 x 280 mm and can hit claimed max speeds of 600 mm/s with acceleration of 20,000 mm/s. Its hot end can reach temperatures of up to 370 °C.
Combined with its 400W active heating chamber, this allows the machine to handle both high-temperature filaments like ABS and PC, as well as those that are “industrial-grade”, like carbon-fiber-reinforced PPS-CF.
Bells and whistles include automatic leveling, a self-cleaning nozzle, an “extra thick” 6mm hotbed – double the thickness of its predecessor – a full-metal frame, and an HD camera. There’s also filament runout and tangle detection, and a filament auto-cutting functionality.
Users control the printer via a five-inch touchscreen, which boasts a fresh UI and runs on Klipper V0.12.0, which Qidi Tech says opens the door for increased customization and better support for extensions.
