The bounty program for the RP2350 microcontroller has been extended until year's end, and the initial 10K prize doubled.

It seems Raspberry Pi is especially serious about the security of its RP2350 microcontroller – so much so that it has extended the bounty program and doubled the prize from $10K to $20K.

The program was initially scheduled to run for 30 days from its August launch at the Def Con 32 hacking convention. During that time, however, no one managed to hack the chip and secure the cash, so the contest will now run until the end of the year.

The GitHub repository is still active for those who wish to participate. Based on the lack of a winner so far, it seems you’ll have your work cut out for you – but think of the bragging rights (not to mention that fatter bank statement) should you be successful.

You can also read more about the program’s extension on Raspberry Pi’s blog.
