Xometry has announced that joining its Series D funding round for an on-demand manufacturing marketplace is Robert Bosch Venture Capital (RBVC). Along with RBVC’s investment, Xometry has now raised a total of $118MM.
Randy Altschuler, co-founder and CEO of Xometry, said: “We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with a world class manufacturing brand like Bosch… Global expansion is one of our key upcoming initiatives and we look forward to leveraging Bosch’s deep manufacturing expertise as we launch in Europe.”
RBVC will join other investors including Greenspring Associates, Dell Technologies Capital, BMW iVentures, Foundry Group, GE Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, Maryland Venture Fund and Almaz Capital.
Xometry Raises a Total of $118MM
Xometry is working on situating itself as a leader in rapid prototyping and on-demand manufacturing. It offers 3D printing technologies, resources such as webinars, and a range of digital fabrication tools.
One of its resources is its Instant Quoting Engine which provides designers with the ability to upload a file and get a figure for how much it would cost to produce.
The designer can then order a custom manufactured part which is created by one of the 3,000 manufacturers in Xometry’s Partner Network. With Xometry, it’s possible to create parts via CNC Machining, 3D Printing, Sheet Metal Fabrication, and Injection Molding.
